Having worked from a young age at my local golf club I quickly developed employability skills and key interpersonal skills. Skills including communication, team work, people management, adaptability and problem solving skills. During my undergraduate degree programme I undertook a full placement year where I worked on marketing and comms for the university placements team. As well as marketing and comms I worked closely with careers professionals delivering alone or co-delivering career sessions on CVs, interviews and other aspects of the job journey.These sessions were both virtual as well as in-person. As part of the role I ran weekly 1-1 drop in sessions where I met with students for a short time to discuss their placement options, CV, interview, assessment centre advice. This placement year lead to my skills growing immensely all of which I use to benefit students today. Upon graduating I worked as a HR administrator, looking after administration of the team from the start of the employees journey to the end. I was the organisations named well-being champion and planned events/sessions/campaigns to meet the requirements of various charters. Analysing data from our EAP meant I was able to create the well-being plan for the next year to meet the needs of the workforce. Amongst many other responsibilities I would conduct exit interviews and then raise investigations on any issues that had been made apparent. Northumbria University
